Depth Psychology
is a psychology that focuses on the unconscious
contents of the psyche, both personal and the collective.
As far as it is possible, it attempts to open a
threshold or doorway to discover the unknown parts
of ourselves. This leads to inner awareness and
emotional healing, not only for ourselves, but
for others and ultimately the larger community.
Carl G. Jung believed we are only truly free in
our choices when we have uncovered these unknown
parts, otherwise our intentions and choices are
influenced by the unconscious. We see this happen
in repetitive patterns in our lives, such as in
relationships and addictions, as examples of how
we are sometimes persuaded by unknown parts hidden
in the psyche.

In addition,
the objective psyche, or collective unconscious,
is a large resource for information about our inner
self, soul purpose and life direction. It can be
accessed through thresholds in imaginal states,
which are doorways into the psyche. The psyche
speaks in images, once we learn her language; we
begin an alchemical journey of transformation in
a deeply creative process. In this year-long course,
we tend psyche and learn from her the mysteries
that await us when we ask. Although coursework
may be taken individually, committing to the program
in its entirety creates cohesion to your creative
journey.
